While my darling [livejournal.com profile] ames1010 is off stalking procuring my future husband/ticket to a Visa, allow me an utterly pointless rant..

DOCUDRAMAS MUST DIEEEEE!

Seriously.
I'm a big old geek & I LOVE documentaries. But how many times must I find something in a listings magazine that interests me only to find it is in fact an evil DOCUDRAMA.

I have nothing against dramatising history; I adore historical drama. But why must they ruin an interesting documentary by inserting LAME and badly-acted re-enactments every 5 seconds that are telling us things we've just heard via the narration? It's just padding and negates any ability to get further into a story or idea.

I know, they think we're too stupid and our attention span too small to absorb information without bells and whistles. Wtf? All that happens is that such a programme falls between the two stools and loses any appeal as either drama OR information. I DO NOT need to see some drama-school dropout in a terrible powdered wig chewing the scenery in order to be entertained and enthralled by history, argh!!

*lies down*

*goes back to thinking about future husband*
